Potential photos for ancillary work
Here are some examples of the photos I hope to use for my digipack
In this photo, I used lightroom to manipulate the saturation of certain colours within the photo. By doing this, It starts to create a colour splash effect, having most of the background desaturated with the foreground in focus.
( -100 means i have desaturated those selected colours)

Outline improvements needed before final deadline
Improvements
- To make the lip sync much more sharper
- Make the music fade appropriately at the end of the video
- Edit more on the colours e.g. making the flashback much more bright in contrast to the argument scene.
- Include more variations of fast and slow motion effects
Music vid draft ( FCPX Edit) by Dazhane
I decided to take some of the clips we filmed and edit it ontop of the soundtrack as a draft of what the music video might look like. This is only a base, so that when we do come onto editing on premiere pro, we have sort of structure to follow by:

Thoughts after FINAL edit ( problems and solutions) By Dazhane
Thoughts on the final edit
After watching the final edit of the Music Video - I am extremely proud of how far the group has come in terms of planning and editing.
In this final editing lesson, we just tweeked a few errors to make sure that our music video remained at a high level and there was not any outstanding things that needed changing.
The sky garden scene
There were a few things that need to be changed in the sky garden scene.
I had to make sure that the consistency in colour ran throughout the sky garden scene and there were parts that were still unedited. To resolve this, I put a brightness and contrast effect over the video and just decreased the brightness and increased the contrast. This made the city lights stand out more and not look as dull as it did in ( on the left hand side). This wasnt much of a problem due to the fact that there were no faces in the clip, previously we had the issue of darkening the clip so much that it affected facial features and looked obvious that it was edited.
Adding an adjustment layer
When watching over the flashback, we ran into a problem of the brightness and contrast not being consistent throughout. To overcome this problem we added an adjustment layer ( in pink). What this does is add the same effect over a multitude of clips. In this instance we were able to set the brightness and contrast for all the clips in the flashback as it all had the same feel that we wanted to get across. This again made it look less like we manipulated the colouring.
Replacing out of focus clips
Due to the fact we were filming behind a glass, in dark conditions and with a 50mm lense - it was hard for the camera to focus at a point which sometimes produced blurred clips. We placed some of the clips in the video as we thought it would work - but in the end we shortened the clips so you are unable to see the out of focus parts.
Thoughts after editing 2 ( Inc BTS and never seen before footage) By Dazhane
Hey guys!
Im back with another vlog on my thoughts and feelings on the stage we are at in terms of editing. In this video I explain to you the issues we came across when trying to edit as well as how we over came that. As well as talking, I also add BTS and never seen before footage of our music video.
Thoughts after editing 1
Below is a little vlog on what my thoughts are on our first day of editing.

Reflection on filming
In total we filmed in 5 locations: Notting Hill, The Skygardens, The open space, The forest and in front of the white screen.
Upon reflection of our Notting Hill shots we decided against using these shots as the looked staged and unnatural and we felt it did not fit with the flow of our music video.
We liked our sky garden shots as they ranged from establishing shots to over the shoulder shots and we really liked the mise en scene and scenery.
We also liked the lighting and range of camera shots used in our open space scene, it also had lots of potential to add post production effects such as slow motion and colour adjustments.
The forest scene shots were okay, however some of the shots were repetitive and I feel we could have done with a wider range of shots however as it got dark quite quickly it was hard to film in the dark which reduced our filming time.
Finally the white screen shots were also nice looking however with these shots we also lacked a range of shots and were limited to mid and shoulder shots.
