Eunice's Own Reflection On Editing

The editing so far is going good actually. We started off editing the way we edit films - which is wrong. Then it was quite quickly to fix it - base track editing. As we edited the music video we've noticed that the shots of Sarene (singer) in the white screen are quite limited, there not much variety of shots. So, on friday (20/11/15), the day i missed the media lesson because i was unwell, my group decided they would re-shot the scenes in the white screen, to get more shots from different angles. On Wednesday, me (Eunice) and Sarene filmed again the scenes, while Dazhane and Zahra got on with the editing.

In my opinion we didn't paid much attention and rather focused more on the other scenes which is why we notice this problem so late. Well the filming on Wednesday went 6/10, my reasons fro these are :
  1. Sarene had a whole different hairstyle  : box braids while in the previous scenes filmed she had mid-parting straight hair. These two hairstyles differ quite a lot, therefore we had to choose to either use the shots that we already filmed or film everything again.
               2. Also the outfit was not the same even though it was similar - they were both black. (she lost the dress)
               3. The shots simply didn't look good, there was something about the shots that did not please us : maybe the lighting or even the quality of the camera, because we were meant to use Dazhane's camera which is of more quality

Well, after filming most of the shots again, we've decided that we are not using them. It talked with our teacher about the issue, and she told us there us any problem because we have more than enough footage from the other 3 scenes (flashback, argument, sky garden), to complete the whole video. I guess this complication trembled the editing stage some days ago, but i'm confident the editing stage will get better and the outcome will be the reflection of both my individual effort and the group's effort.
