Synergy
identify one key visual element that you are going to use to link together your promotional video with the ancillary texts

Welcome back to our blog!,

The one key visual element that our group has chosen to link together the music video to our ancillary products is 'lighting' - the idea of lightness and darkness. One of the main reasons why we have decided to use this is because we believe that we can emphasis the progression of the artist 'conquering' and getting over her past situations through location and costume. Lightness can be linked with happiness and can also be seen as angelic and beautiful whereas darkness is linked with negativity and ugliness. 

The above photo is an example of a picture we could use as the album cover for the artist. It started off with a simple picture taken on one of the bridges in Central London. We purposely placed Sarene( the main artist) in the middle of the frame, surrounded by the general public so that she stands out. The point of this is that it looks like the main subject is the main focus amongst the busy day to day life in London

I deliberately edited the photos so that background is black and white, it gives a greyish effect and contrasts against the artist(light and dark put into practice). I personally prefer the second photo as i feel it emphasises light and dark more prominently as literally one side is dark and the other is light - this also signifies the progression of lighting. Similarly in the music video we will use lighting to convey the beautiful, nostaligic and happy moments of the characters life. This will be done by filming in locations that link to 'lightness' ( The sky gardens which is situated on the top floor of the walkie talkie building which shows the skyline of London, White walls/houses in nottinghill) and other well lit locations. This will differ from the darkness of our chosen locations such as the forest pathway.

Hopefully, the audience will be able to see the running theme of light from our promotional video to our ancillary products through location, props, costumes and other lighting techiques such as lense flares.
